2020 Quilt Drawing

“Sunbonnet Sue Volunteers”

Quilt donated by Jane Indreland

This year we have a very special quilt for the FAUSA quilt raffle. Thanks to Jane Indreland for the wonderful and extremely generous donation of ‘Sunbonnet Sue Volunteers’, The FAWCO Foundation Friendship Quilt that she won in 2004! Two of the squares have special significance since they are entitled ‘Togetherness’ and ‘Voting’. In 2004, this quilt raised $4200 which in 2020 dollars is equivalent to $5,856.16. Can we match either of these amounts this year? Please share photos and Jane’s memories with your family and friends and FAWCO member clubs and we can do it! The Togetherness square states it so well and is always relevant to volunteers everywhere: Alone we can do little. Together we can do much .

As always, ticket prices are $20 each or 6 for $100. Payment can be made by credit card, Paypal, or if you prefer to write a US check, please make payable to FAUSA and mail to Peggy Dauser, Treasurer, 10485 NE 6th St., Apt 1530, Bellevue, WA. 98004. Money must be received by October 3, 5PM ET for tickets to be included in the drawing. You only get to vote ONCE for the Annual Grant (Banner Project), but you get to BUY BUY BUY tickets!

Jane writes about this special quilt: “At the March 25-29, 2004 FAWCO Conference in The Hague, I was thrilled to be the winner of Roberta Zöllner’s FAWCO Friendship quilt, ‘Sunbonnet Sue Volunteers’. Roberta assembled and quilted this delightful quilt from 48 squares created by FAWCO clubs highlighting their volunteer activities. The back of the quilt features a beautiful tulip fabric on the border, documentation from Roberta, and is signed by many people who attended the conference, including FAUSA President Dale Koepenick and other FAUSA and FAWCO Club members. It is 5’ by 7’6”. For the past 16 years, I have enjoyed having this quilt brighten our home for its charming design, its lively colors, and its historic interest. In honor of FAUSA’s 20 th anniversary, I am pleased to offer it to help raise money for our charitable efforts.”
