Hello FAUSA! It’s an exciting time ahead as the 2020 Annual Meeting and Getaway is around the virtual corner and you know that means the focus on FUNdraising and Giving is here as well! Here’s a brief rundown of what is in store for FAUSA, with links to information on FAUSA’s Got Talent and More!, auction donation form, photos of the quilt, nomination form for the FAUSA Annual Grant (Banner Project), and more!
New Auction Format
The new online format of the annual meeting and Getaway allows us to reach many many more of you and FAWCO members abroad.
Our FUNdraising includes FAUSA’s Got Talent and More! (an auction of talents) which provides the opportunity to GIVE back to our club by sharing our talents and skills.
- Can you volunteer to teach how to make a favorite recipe (roasted salsa, cabbage rolls, Baileys) or prepare a special meal?
- Would you like to share your knowledge of Excel, self-publishing, French cheese?
- Could you offer to lead a hike or walking tour in your area, trip to a museum or gallery (safely of course!).
The list is endless and is up to the member (instructor) to set the date/timing/participation numbers for the talent they are sharing. These talents can be offered as a group or a smaller, more intimate activity at any time of day/year, it’s up to YOU!
Click here to access the form or contact philanthropy@fausa.org for any questions or your ideas. We hope you’ll share with FAUSA!
Live Auction ... With a Twist
The auction of talents and Live Auctions will also have a new twist; please note, due to this virtual experience shipping costs will be paid by winner, or donor (as part of the donation?). Hold onto your donation until the auction of talents is completed (September 26 - October 3) and the winner is determined. Please consider Live Auction items such as a home stay or vacation home stay, a subscription to a wine club, for example.
For your donations of talent or auction items, please click here to access the form, complete it and submit. Contact philanthropy@fausa.org for any questions.
Annual Quilt Drawing
The quilt drawing features a colorful pattern ‘Sunbonnet Sue Volunteers’ and has been generously donated by Jane Indreland. It is very fitting to have this cheery handiwork, created by Roberta Zoellner for the 2004 FAWCO conference, shared with us in the spirit of giving back.

Annual Grant
And lastly, it’s time to consider nominating an organization for the 2020-2021 FAUSA Annual Grant (Banner Project). The Annual Grant has been awarded since 2013 to an organization in the USA or Americas. Online voting will occur during the week prior to the Annual Meeting (September 26-October 3) and the recipient announced October 3.

As always, contact philanthropy@fausa.org for more information! I want to hear from you!
